About me
I moved to Milton Keynes with my family over ten years ago and taught in college initially; I was privileged to be teaching English to students who had perhaps struggled to grasp English through their schooling, it was certainly challenging, but I was so proud to be able to make a just a small, and positive difference in their lives. I then qualified as a secondary teacher – the training of which was intense – as any teacher would tell you! It was absolutely worth it though, as I have been honoured to teach in a number of schools, and have, I hope, helped hundreds of students on their way through school and through their GCSE’s. It has been an enormous privilege to support students in their progression. Along the way, I have also taught another passion of mine: history (KS3 and KS4). I also had the wonderful opportunity to teach Politics A Level, a subject I am equally passionate about, having studied it (and English) for many years at University. To help those young adults on their way to university and the next stage of their lives was a true honour.
Life after Teaching
Deciding to leave full-time teaching – and a salaried position was not an easy decision to make! For a while, I continued in schooling through supply teaching – an enormously rewarding thing to do and I gained fabulous experience in teaching at Primary schools across Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire – All the time, I had continued with private tuition, through a lovely, supportive company – I have tutored students from aged 4 all the way to sixteen years old. The variety of experience over the years, and unpredictability of it, has provided me with a unique opportunity to develop my teaching skills, to develop lessons to meet the needs of all my students – often, when tutoring, my students are learning completely different topics; whether it be an extract, a literature text, poetry, or language analysis – it can be like spinning plates! But, this is what I love to do!
After leaving full-time work, you do naturally get ‘the fear’, many questions run through your mind at a hundred miles an hour, and with a family to support, you wonder can you really take the leap? And that is what it is, deciding to set-up your own business is taking a giant leap of faith into the unknown… It is a wonderfully exciting opportunity!

More subject availability will be coming in the near future!
